Introduction

Dr. Sarita Rani Jaiswal is an eminent physician, working with the Dharamshila Hospital and Research Centre in New Delhi. A Consultant in the Haemato Oncology Department, Dr. Jaiswal pursued her MBBS and MD degrees from reputed institutions. A bright student throughout her academic career, she was bestowed with various prestigious fellowships, including the Fellowship of the University of Parma under Prof. Franco Aversa in Italy, and the Fellowship of the San Martino Hospital in Genoa under Prof. Andrea Bacigalupo. She has also received a fellowship as a visiting physician at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre, in Seattle, USA. Dr. Jaiswal was an important part of the team led by Dr. Suparno Chakrabarti, which developed the Haploidentical BMT Program at the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata, the first of its kind in India. A committed doctor, she has made significant contributions in the field of NK Cell Research in patients undergoing Haploidentical BMT for Aplastic Anemia and she undertook training in TCRalfabeta depleted Haploidentical BMT under Prof. Aversa. Dr. Jaiswal has also been awarded the ESH-EBMT scholarship for her work in Haploidentical BMT. A doctor highly regarded by her patients, she is a member of various reputed organizations, including the American Society Of Blood & Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT), European Hematology Association (EHA), and the Asia-Pacific Hematology Consortium (APHCON). With many international presentations and publications to her credit, Dr. Jaiswal constantly upgrades herself to deliver the best clinical solutions to her patients. Her significant presentations include “A case series of Myoepithelioma of Minor Salivary Glands with significance of IHC” at the MAPCON in India in the year 2009, “Contrasting Patterns of Alloreactivity amongst Malignant & Nonmalignant Diseases receiving Haploidentical PBSC GRAFT & Post-Transplant Cyclophosphamide” at the BMT Tandem Meeting in 2013, and many more. Her important publications include “Second Haploidentical PBSC Transplantation from the Same Donor after Early Relapse without GVHD in Patients with Acute Leukemia”, “Persistently High GAM Levels are associated with Nonrelapse Mortality in HCT Recipients Irrespective of Invasive Aspergillosis: A Prospective Cohort Study, and many more.
