What is an Indian e-Medical Visa?
The Indian e-Medical Visa is an electronic travel authorization for foreign nationals seeking short-term medical treatment in India. This visa allows the holder to enter India up to three times and is valid for 60 days from the date of arrival.

Important Notes:

• The e-Medical Visa is strictly for patients receiving treatment; family members are not permitted to travel on this visa.
  
• Relatives wishing to accompany the patient must apply separately for an e-Medical Attendant Visa. 

How Does the e-Medical Visa Work?
The application process is simple and can be completed online. Applicants must provide:

• Full name, date/place of birth, contact details, and passport information
  
• A completed security questionnaire
  
• Payment of the visa fee via debit or credit card 

Once approved, the visa is sent to the applicant’s email address.

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Have a passport valid for at least 6 months with two blank pages
  
• Hold a return or onward ticket
  
• Carry a copy of the approved e-Visa at all times in India
  
• Be able to support themselves financially during their stay
  
• Have a visa invitation letter from an Indian hospital and answer questions regarding the facility 

Additional Guidelines:

• The e-Medical Visa is not renewable, extendable, or valid for entry into restricted/protected areas
  
• Diplomatic passport holders or those with international travel documents are not eligible
  
• Each applicant, regardless of age, must hold a separate passport and application 

What Can You Do With an e-Medical Visa?
This visa is specifically intended for individuals traveling to India for short-term medical care. It does not permit tourism or access to protected areas. A letter from a recognized Indian hospital is required during the application process.

What is an Indian e-Medical Attendant Visa?
The e-Medical Attendant Visa is granted to up to two family members accompanying a patient who holds an approved e-Medical Visa.

Key Details:

• Only blood relatives of the patient are eligible
  
• The visa is valid for 60 days, matching the patient’s visa
  
• It cannot be extended or renewed
  
• Applicants must submit an online application and upload a scanned copy of their passport’s bio page 

How Does the e-Medical Attendant Visa Work?
Family members from eligible countries can apply online 4 to 7 days before arrival in India. Most applications are processed within 4 days.

Applicants must provide:

• Personal and passport details
  
• Contact information
  
• Security questionnaire responses
  
• Payment of visa fees 

Once approved, the visa is sent via email.

Duration of Stay

For e-Medical Visa Holders:

• Valid for 60 days from arrival
  
• Allows up to 3 entries
  
• Can be obtained 3 times per calendar year 

For e-Medical Attendant Visa Holders:

• Also valid for 60 days
  
• Can accompany a patient with an active e-Medical Visa
  
• Limited to 3 applications per year
